About:

My work as a multimedia journalist is rooted in a desire to tell authentic, human stories — often focusing on youth culture, subcultures, emerging creatives, and underrepresented communities. I believe creativity is a powerful form of self-expression and resistance, especially for those historically excluded. Growing up working-class in Birmingham shaped how I see the world and fuels the themes I explore — stories of resilience, ambition, and creativity against the odds. The idea of the underdog, and the importance of platforming different voices, sits at the core of what I do. I draw inspiration from real people, everyday movements, and the intersection between art and lived experience — where culture evolves through fashion, music, identity, and community. I’m influenced by documentary photography, grassroots media, and the raw storytelling of underground scenes. My practice combines writing, photography, and video to capture feeling as much as fact. Writing is usually my starting point, helping me distil complex ideas into something clear and resonant. Photography and video then build on that narrative visually, offering deeper emotional connection. Each medium I work with serves the same purpose: to reflect truth and spark conversation. My approach is both research-led and intuitive — I spend time understanding my subjects and the wider cultural context they exist in, ensuring the work is empathetic and considered. Authenticity and care are essential principles in my process. Ultimately, my creative work is about giving space to voices, aesthetics, and ideas that often go unseen — and doing so with honesty, energy, and respect. Through journalism, photography, and creative direction, I aim to build a body of work that reflects the richness and complexity of contemporary culture, from the ground up.
